Medal of Valor Ceremony

Exceptional acts of heroism were front and center at the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s annual Valor Awards Ceremony at the Pasadena Convention Center on Thursday evening, May 31, 2018. Department members and Good Samaritans were honored with Exemplary Service, Certificate of Merit, Unit Citation, Certificate of Valor, and prestigious Medal of Valor awards for going above and beyond the call of duty. The highest honor presented, the Medal of Valor, was awarded to Fire Fighter Brent Glonchak for his decisive action and selfless bravery in saving a domestic violence victim, and to nine LACoFD personnel who put their lives on the line to help others when a gunman opened fire from a Las Vegas hotel room into the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
